The tabletop is composed of a massive, continuous 1-1/2" thick live-edge American walnut slab, measuring an impressive 100 inches in length. Hand-selected for its sweeping organic contours and rich cathedral grain patterns, the walnut is brought to a smooth, tactile luster using a hand-applied satin oil finish that deeply saturates the timber while preserving its natural character.
Supporting this monumental wood plane are two tapered trapezoidal bases hand-fabricated from 3/8" thick solid structural steel plate. The bases feature precise circular cut-outs that pierce the heavy steel, adding a calculated lightness and architectural rhythm to the stark geometry. The steel is completed with a hand-applied, stabilized blackened patina that delivers a deep, velvety monochromatic finish—creating an intentional, process-heavy juxtaposition against the warmth of the live-edge wood.
