The Block Side Tables are a sculptural exploration of elemental mass, negative space, and versatile geometry. Crafted as an interlocking pair of minimalist forms, these heavy timber pieces are designed to function seamlessly as side tables, sculptural seating, or interactive spatial accents. Their uncompromising simplicity highlights the raw, monolith character of thick-cut wood, inviting an organic warmth and tactile restraint into both refined modern and wabi-sabi interiors.
Each piece is meticulously constructed from massive, 3" thick select Douglas fir timbers. The tables feature robust, traditional joinery secured with exposed wooden pinning—showcasing a process-heavy fabrication method where the structural connection becomes an intentional graphic detail on the timber's surface.
The wood is treated with a hand-applied satin oil finish that deeply penetrates the dense grain fibers, accentuating the rich, amber warmth and shifting organic character of the Douglas fir while leaving a smooth, matte gallery patina.
